great news!

(from my mom's phone)

April 20th is my birthday. I am going to have a horse slumber party on that day. My mom and dad are giving me a mountain bike but that is all I know I'm getting. The mountain bike is going to be like the color of my eyes, turquoise! I am going to have it in a few days and can't wait. Some of my friends are coming over and 2 of my cousins Abigail and Sydney. My friends are Keturah, Little Ella [Keturah's little sister], Jessica, and Verity, who gave me the horse book with the Appaloosa.
We are going to get hay from someone and a saddle from my mom's friend. My mom and I are going to have a wreath on the front door and we are going to have banners and cupcake toppers. And we are going to have the best time ever!!!!! We are going to watch Black Beauty and sleep in the living room. We will probably have a campfire in the backyard and play games outside. We will have ice cream, cupcakes, and pizza, too. Thank you everyone for looking at my blog!

A Colorful Pinto

About me

I am 8 years old. I've loved horses for six years since I didn't know about them until I was three. Mrs. Karen (my horse back riding teacher) taught me how to ride horses. First she taught me how to ride Vern (favorite horse in the stable of all six. Then, Dixie, the horse that is so sweet even though she bites sometimes. As you can see the picture of me riding Vern I have brownish blonde hair with greenish blue eyes, white skin and a huge love for horses and drawing. I am writing a book called Mandy and the Wild Mustang. One time she was walking in a corn field and she hears a horses whinny. She walks to where the whinny is and sees a mustang. This is a book about love for horses. Thank everyone for looking at my blog.

A poem about horses

I love the country not the city,
even though I live in the city.
I can have fun with horses,
I have some horses in my room,
too bad they could not come true,
of being alive in my room,
or if I had my own horse,
it could peek her head in my room.
I miss horse riding every day,
but I always come back.
I would love to live in the stable,
and have horse smell on me,
not take a shower or anything like that.
I will love horses forever and ever.

What I did in horse riding

When I went to horse back riding, my horse riding teacher was not there. My grandpa and I tacked up Vern by ourselves. When I first got on Vern I felt happy as a horse getting hay. It was a challenge when we got Dixie, Jasper and Vern in their stalls and out. As I was at the end of the hill Vern and I cantered back up the hill. We trotted next. Then we went back inside the barn and untacked Vern. We put the horses back- but not Neon, Swan and Dancer because they don't get along with them. We left and got ice cream and pizza and then stopped at my other grandma and grandpa's house. My cousins, Noah and Brennan, were there, and we pretended that Brennan was scaring us by saying "boo" to us and stomping and jumping and other stuff. I went inside because my dad was shooting his new gun for fun but I didn't want to stay outside with him. When we got home I went straight to bed I was so tired.

If your horse won't eat.

If your horse won't eat, you should try putting hay in his or her stall or pasture. If it does not work you should go on the trail and stop where there is lots of grass and trees, get your horse in the middle of the grass, and let it graze. However, if that does not work, bring your horse a treat- like a sugar cube or carrot.

Here is a recipe for horses- a Birthday Cake!

*Ingredients:

4 cups of sweet feed or oats
1 cup of molasses or honey
2 Carrots cut into carrot sticks
1 Apple cut into slices

Preparation:

Mix the honey and sweet feed/oats together in a big bowl. Then, when fully mixed, place the mixture on a plate and shape into the form of a birthday cake! (you could even use a mold!). Use the carrots as candles and the apple slices as decorations. (be creative!). Horses really enjoy this sticky but delicious treat!
